Elaine Ward, nee Winston was born in Boston Mass. Her family owned a flower shop on Newberry Street where as a young child spent many wonderful hours creating floral arrangements. This was the start of Elaine's journey as an artist.
In the 50's she attended the Art Students League in New York City. She supported herself working as a model for the Frances Gill and Ford Agencies. Her modeling career took her to Paris where she worked as a fashion and photographer's model for Jacques Fath, Balmain, Dior, De Givenchy and all the great Haute Couturiers. During this time she attended L'Ecole des Beaux Arts.
She married William Ward, a well known fashion photographer. She had her first solo show at La Ronde in Westhampton Beach, New York. Subsequently, other shows followed in the Hamptons and New York City.
In the 80's she moved to the south of France. Her work was shown at the Association Des Beaix-Arts de Cannes, The Casino Municipal and various other galleries in France.
She now lives in New York City where she is a member of The National Arts Club, Society of Illustrators and several other organizatios. Her work can be seen in museums and galleries. She presently has several shows in the works.
